Costas Daoultzis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he graduated from the English Department of the Philosophical School at the Aristotelian University. As a student he first dealt with photography making the translation of two books on photography for Moressopoulos publishing company and the FOTOGRAFIA magazine, titled “Form and line in photography” and “Creative Darkroom Techniques” by KODAK. He has also translated various articles for the same magazine.

Later, as a mature student, he entered the Photography School (a department of the School of Graphic Arts and Artistic Studies) at TEI in Athens, where he got his degree from. His thesis was based on the book “The photographer’s eye” (a publication of MoMA, N.Y.) making a comparison of Greek photographers respectively and commenting on their works.

Some articles have also been published at the PHOTOGRAPHOS magazine, Athens.

In the past he has taught photography at the Centre of Creative Involvement run by Protasis (a NGO) in Patras along with Mr. Sakis Roditis as well as “A.S.T.O. Epikoinonoume” in parallel with Nick Tsakanikas. He has also presented darkroom techniques to University students at the “Topalis” foundation and furthermore at the Prefecture of Achaia with Andreas Alexopoulos. In the year 2018-19 he taught at the Club of O.T.E (Telecommunications Organization employees) in Patras, called “Polymorpho” and was the curator for their annual photo exhibition.

He has exhibited photos with a group of photographers in various places (shops and cafes) in Patras and also at a place called “Catamaran” along with a friend and photographer, namely Yiannis Vlastaras. Some of his photos have won the first prize at a competition held by the Teachers’ Association on the Environment, having “the water” as a subject.
