Making theatre to feel joy
Why we use terms such as "devised" theatre and text-based performance? All theatre is devised and text-based. A text is simply a blueprint and a basis for making something happen. A text might be a thing written on lots of pages. It might equally be something inscribed in or on the bodies of the performers, a series of movements or gestures or acts. It might similarly be based on an improvised play or it might be a combination of all these things. All of these are types of texts that could be used to make a performance. We can make theatre based on the White Pagesbut we cannot make it when something very important is missing: the joy of creation. Come to create together with pictures, music, movement, words...
