Simona Vermeire. Postdoctoral researcher in Comparative Literature at the University of Minho, CEHUM, Braga. Doctoral thesis on The body and epidemy in the work of José Saramago and Eugène Ionesco.

She has a degree in Languages (French-Portuguese) and master from the University of Bucharest in Theory and Practice of Image at the Center of Excellence in Image Studies Bucharest.

In 2005, she published the critical essay Fiction, the verosimil variant of history in the work of José Saramago.

She worked as an editor and writer for the cultural magazine Tomis in Constanta, Romania, and has organized several interdisciplinary artistic projects in Belgium, Romania, Brazil and Portugal.

In March 2012, she founded the interdisciplinary project SinfoSaramago
